Our 1st Easter!

The week before Easter, Drew worked every single day till 11pm except Wednesday when he got off at 5pm! I was so excited, but since this was his only night off, it was our night to decorate Easter Eggs. I had gone to the store and bought the little easy to do kits and they were so much fun! I got a glitter box and a tye dye box. We had a blast!

[pictures coming soon :)]

I could not imagine the Easter Bunny not coming this year, so, I took matters into my own hands. I decided to go all out for Easter... well sort of. Drew and I are not big fans of sweets, so it was actually pretty hard to find stuff to go in his basket. My brother and I went Easter shopping a few weeks before Easter and then hid everything in the trunk of my car. Well, Drew was on the hunt for something and for some reason decided to look in the trunk of my car... welp, he figured out that I was planning on doing something big for Easter and was upset that I had gotten stuff for my own basket. haha, So, I was only in charge of his basket and he was in charge of mine! :]

Drew's Easter Basket:
I kind of spoiled my husband! But, what else are wives for ;] Since there are very few sweets that Drew likes, I got him Reeses Easter Eggs, Snickers, 100 Grand, Red Vines, Cinnamon Bears, Fruit Gushers... and then some fun stuff like a... BYU hat, BYU bag, BYU lanyard, and a Rockies hat

Needless to say... He LOVED it all! Mission Accomplished

I also decided to buy a ton of Easter eggs and fill them with little notes with the word egg in them..(and of course some had little goodies...)  Here are a few examples...

* You are EGGstra special
* EGGchange for a kiss
*You are an EGGsraordinary husband

Since Drew had to work the 245-11pm shift at work and I had to work 1030pm-730am, I decorated our room before I went to work, so when he came home, the room would be all decked out. (I would have put the eggs all over the house, but we were still living with Matt & Alexis) Here is our room...

I did not want to forget the true meaning of Easter, so I also went to the church bookstore and picked out this...

I think it is so easy to get wrapped up in the worldly aspect of holidays such as Easter and Christmas, but Drew and I are always trying to make a constant effort to remember Christ in our daily lives, especially on holidays such as these. It would not have been Easter without the remembrance of the Atonement. I am so grateful for everything my Savior has done for me. Not many know this, but Drew and I had no intention of ever getting married. I went to EFY to be a counselor for the week and it wasn't until I was completely taken out of the world and placed in the presence of my Savior, that I realized all of the things the Lord had in store for me, and especially Drew and I. And, not only did He open my eyes, He also opened Drew's eyes that same week and brought us together. It is so easy for me to get wrapped up in school, work, friends, or family, and it is so nice to take a step back and just remember our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for everything He has done for me and my family. I am grateful He opened not only my eyes, but Drew's eyes as well and helped us to see the potential we would have together! There has not been one day that our Savior has not been with Drew and I throughout our relationship and I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father sent His only begotten Son to this wicked Earth, all because of the love He has for each and every one of us! Mary and Joseph were such strong and valiant parents to my Savior and I hope that Drew and I can become at least somewhat the parents they were and are! I love my Savior so much and am so grateful for this Easter holiday to remember Him.
