Lily's blessing day!

I feel so blessed to be able to bless my little girl in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Drew was able to bless Lily and it was such a wonderful and special day for our family! We were sooo incredibly blessed to have my immediate family, Grandma and Grandpa, the entire Henderson family, and Drew's immediate family there to share in our joy! I was overwhelmed with the amount of love that was shown!

After the blessing, we had a wonderful luncheon at the Baumgartners!

I sure do LOVE my family!

Happy Birthday Drew!

Drew turned 24!! DANG is he getting old! ;] hehe
This year, Drew had to work :[ so we had a birthday lunch for him and opened presents at midnight on his birthday! From me, he got a real bow and arrow!! Oh yes.. I'm that awesome! haha

.. and Lily got him his very own popcorn popper and popcorn!

.. from his parents Drew got earphones :] and he was sooooo excited over them, I think he has tried to make me listen with them at least 50 times!

... and from my parents he claims he will be spending it by buying groceries.. hahaha... but who knows!

Happy Birthday baby! Lily and I love you soo much and hope you had a wonderful birthday!

One Week Old!

My little girl is growing up so fast and changing so much! I want her to stay little and innocent forever!

When we left the hospital Lily weighed 5lbs 9oz... At her one week check she weighed 6lbs 10oz! She had gained a whole pound!! She loves to eat and is growing too fast! :[

Life with a Newborn!

Motherhood has been the biggest blessing! I can not imagine life without my little pumpkin! She has honestly changed my life and challenged me to be a better person in every way! I love her to pieces and can not stop cuddling with her! Here are some random facts about Lily:

-She loves her Daddy! SOO much!
-She can already hold her head up and look around

-She LOVES to cuddle. In fact, the first few weeks, she would only sleep if she was touching me! I can't say I didn't LOVE it!

-She smiled for the first time (because she was happy) on Drew's birthday!
-Her and Daisy are the best of friends!

-She has already rolled over! I am not lying!! She totally rolled, and almost rolled off the couch.
-She LOVES to stand.

-She loves when her daddy plays "moon bounce" with her!
-Her hair is getting blonder and blonder!!!

-She is so alert and stays awake for 2-4 hours at a time!
-She has one happy momma because she sleeps 5-6 hours at night!
-Lily and her Grammy are the best of friends! Especially at 6am ;]
-She is going to miss her Grandpa while he is away in Ireland!

Lily's first bath!

While I was being taken care of post-delivery, Drew stayed with Lily and was able to give her her first bath! He was so funny while doing so. She was crying and he was on total cloud nine!

I am in LABOR!! :]

We went to the hospital around 5pm on Wednesday, September 19th. My aunt was working so I got hooked up right away and they waiting began... My contractions started getting pretty painful after laying there for a little bit and in an hour I progressed to 95% effaced and almost 5cm (when I came in I was 4cm and 90%) so they called my doctor to see what he wanted to do! We were all convinced he was just going to send me home, so we already started getting things ready to go, and my mom was already giving me the pep talk that everything would be ok.... BUT he didn't, the nurse came in and said he is admitting me and I was not leaving without a baby in my arms :] I was MORE than excited and had totally forgotten all about the contractions and couldn't think of anything else but my little girl! I was going to have my body back!! haha
They had me switch rooms from an observation room to a labor and delivery room! Talk about luxury!

It was so nice and comfortable. The nurses re-hooked me up to all the monitors and asked when I wanted the epidural, of course my response was ASAP! haha We were all so giddy and full of excitement I didn't notice anymore contractions. I had tested positive for strep B so I had to have an IV put in and antibiotics right away (to protect Lily from getting it) They hooked me up with saline (keep me hydrated in labor because you can't eat or drink), penicillin (to protect Lily from getting strep b), and pitocin (it makes the contractions more regular)
After getting all that going, we did all the paperwork and then my doctor walked in, said he was going to break my water! I thought it would be so painful, but it actually didn't hurt at all. As he was breaking my water, the anesthesiologist walked in to do my epidural. OH MY THOUGH! The contractions after my water broke were almost unbareable!!! During the first two contractions after my water broke, they were putting in my epidural and I was literally dying! Drew and the nurse had to hold me still (because it is a giant needle that sticks out of your back!!) because I hurt so much from the extra pressure! BUT when the epidural finally kicked in I was in HEAVEN! I was so smily and giggly and didn't feel a thing! I was put on a little oxygen, because Lily's heartrate would dip during every contraction, so they wanted her to get more oxygen via me!
When they broke my water I was 5 1/2cm... 30min later I was 7cm... another 10 min goes by and the nurses come running back in and I was 9cm. haha. They left again thinking it would be a little bit longer, but NO JOKE, they walked out of the room and I turned to my mom and said "I think I just pooped" haha My mom looked and started laughing! Lily's head was right there... the nurse came running back in again and I was all ready to go!  The doctor wasn't even on his way to the hospital yet. Everyone assumed that since I was a first time mom, labor would be a LOT longer.
The nurses rushed and got everything ready for Lily to arrive and had me do a couple practice pushes while we waited for the doctor and after 2 contractions of pushing, they had to tell me to stop.. not only that, I wasn't allowed to laugh, sneeze, cough, move, nothing! Each contraction after that was pushing her out without me even doing anything! Her head was half way out and my mom and the nurses were playing with her hair when the doctor arrived. He hurry and got dressed, told me to push, and then told me to stop pushing! that he would do the rest. haha! It was so funny! She came right out!

It was the easiest labor and recovery I have ever heard of! I honestly had no complications! She cried immediately and there were zero signs of her being early, undeveloped, nothing! She was a perfect fully developed baby! SO, my original due date was correct!  Lily was 3 days late! :]

She was born at 9:58pm and weighed 5lbs 14oz 18.5in long!

Well, everything calmed down after that.. I was moved to another room to stay for the next few days. Since the labor was so quick, they didn't get a chance to get a second round of antibiotics in me, so they had to do blood tests on Lily until she was 48hours old. So we had to stay in the hospital a little longer than usual. We came home Friday night at 1130pm. I was not spending another night in the hospital. I was going to stir crazy! It was so nice to be home too! AMAZING REALLY! She is the most perfect and happy baby ever!!! Everyone has commented on how perfect she is, and the nurses would CNA's would come in just to see Lily and hold her. It was funny! She is so beautiful!

She is such a good eater too! She is little so she gets her fill quick, but it was pretty easy to get her to learn to breast feed! OH get this... she LOVES her feet being rubbed!!! It's like a drug to her. haha she will start getting mad or fussy and I will rub her feet and her whole body relaxes IMMEDIATELY and her eyes roll back and then when I stop, she will squak at me to keep going hahaha! She LOVES it! She is already a complete Reynolds! :]

37.5 weeks or 40.5 weeks?

The final days leading up to Lily's birth were quite interesting! My mom came to town and stayed with us for a few weeks and it was so awesome! I owe her sooo much! The first week she was here, she helped me clean my house, finish decorating a few rooms, get anything I was missing for Lily, make her bows, take pictures, cook every meal for me, and we definitely can NOT forget the back massages, foot massages, and most importantly, playing with my hair! haha.

Here is the belly bump while I was in Colorado! 2 weeks before Lily arrived!
Still no stretch marks and it is all BABY! you can even still see my hip bones! We got a good laugh out of that!

The second week of her being here was a little more exciting and eventful. She arrived on a Tuesday and on Friday I started having insane contractions. This was my original due date according to my period, so I was getting excited in between the pain. ha. I decided to try and ease the back pain with a hot bath, but that didn't seem to help, so my wonderful mother, (who had already taken a sleeping pill) got up and dressed and walked me around the neighborhood for hours! We timed the contractions and started packing the hospital bag.. and of course the contractions STOPPED! I cannot even begin to describe my annoyance! I ended up sleeping in my mom's bed that night and woke up the next morning ready to walk and walk and walk! Saturday night was a repeat of Friday night and when Sunday rolled around... I was more than annoyed and didn't want to do anything else to make this baby come!!

 Just days before Lily arrived...

It was pretty quiet around our house until Tuesday night. Once again, the contractions started and were regular. This time I decided to just let everyone sleep and try to make it through the night because I had a doctors appointment the following morning. I was still having contractions through the ultrasound and doctors appointment. Lily was measuring another 2 weeks behind in size. The annoyance began all over again because I knew the doctor wouldn't help speed things along especially with her size! I was dilated to 4cm and 90% effaced! I thought for sure he would send me in to labor and delivery, but no.

We ended up leaving the doctors appointment a little down in the dumps and discouraged, but the contractions were still going on strong and began to be a lot stronger than before. Drew went to class and my mom and I began walking all over town again to try and get things moving! Drew came home from class and I told him I was ready to go to labor and delivery. He proceeded to question whether or not it was time. (talk about things NOT to say haha.) After some deadly looks on my behalf, we drove to the hospital! I wasn't really sure I was in labor, I more so wanted to know if I was making any progress with these contractions. I definitely was not expecting what was to come next...
